Yes, and it already was before July 13. PlayAlberta gave Albertans a legal, AGLC-run option for years. The change is that private operators can now compete alongside it if they hold an AGLC licence and an AiGC agreement.

The AGLC licenses and regulates operators. The AiGC manages the market day-to-day and signs the commercial agreements operators need before they can go live.

Yes. PlayAlberta continues to operate after July 13. Existing players do not need to do anything.

They are not covered by the AGLC’s rules. AGLC self-exclusion and other consumer protections do not apply to them.

It still needs to work through its agreement with the AiGC. Holding an AGLC licence is not enough on its own. An operator needs both approvals before it can accept players from Alberta. The tracker above shows the current status of every registered brand.

Yes. Each licensed operator runs its own registration and account system, separate from PlayAlberta. Signing up with one does not affect any of your other accounts.

Yes. The AGLC is expected to keep adding operators to the list as they complete registration and reach agreements with the AiGC. This list reflects the AGLC register and the AiGC live-site directory as of July 21, 2026.
